Efficient Procurement: Successful Implementation

Applied Materials is a leading semiconductor manufacturing company based in Santa Clara, California. As a global leader in the production of semiconductor equipment, the company relies heavily on an efficient and effective procurement process to ensure that they have the necessary materials and components to produce their products. The procurement process at Applied Materials is crucial in ensuring that the company can source materials, manage suppliers, and control costs, all while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency in their manufacturing process. By optimizing their procurement process, Applied Materials can improve their overall operational efficiency, reduce costs, and stay competitive in the semiconductor industry.

Our team worked on a project with Applied Materials a manufacturing company that operates on an international level. The objective of the project was to implement an integration between new procurement system and older ones for the company that could streamline their procurement processes, apply forecasting for material demand and improve the efficiency of their operations.

Project Scope

The scope of our project was to implement a procurement system that could handle different procurement workflows for the company.

We also needed to integrate our system with their existing SAP system using SQL. Additionally, we had to create some analytical reports and widgets using data warehouses.

Implementation Process The implementation process took approximately one year, with three months dedicated to testing. Two teams, located in Asia and the United States respectively, were involved in the implementation process. We utilized Scrum project management technology to ensure that the project was delivered on time and on budget.

 System Features

New procurement system was designed to replace the company’s existing local procurement system. The system provided real-time connectivity between the buyer and the supplier, allowing both parties to access the same system and apply changes to the purchase order, advance shipping notice, and delivery. We also connected our system with Hadoop to bring data and create some forecast reports.

 Impact

The implementation of integrated Procurement systems helped our client to improve the speed of their procurement processes. The real-time connection between the buyer and the supplier eliminated the need for multiple systems and emails, making the procurement process more efficient. The system also provided a centralized location for all procurement-related information, allowing the client to manage everything in one system.

Conclusion

In conclusion, our team successfully implemented a procurement system for an international manufacturing company, which improved the efficiency of their procurement processes. The system provided real-time connectivity between the buyer and the supplier, enabling them to manage the entire procurement process in one system. Streamlining Asset Management

Introduction

Parsonline is an internet service provider (ISP) that has been in operation since 1999. It provides a variety of services, including broadband internet, domain registration, web hosting, virtual private servers (VPS), and dedicated servers. With over 600,000 subscribers, Parsonline operates in more than 300 cities and towns, and has invested heavily in developing its network infrastructure to provide high-speed and reliable internet connectivity to its customers. The company is committed to providing high-quality and innovative services to its customers and has won several awards for its services and customer satisfaction.

ParsOnline needed a solution to track and manage their assets in real-time. The company faced challenges when services were shut down for more than six hours until offline reports indicated a problem with one asset. This highlighted the need for an integrated asset management system.

Our team worked with client to transfer over 200,000 assets worth $20 million to an on-prem enterprise system architecture. We also integrated their customized real-time tracking system with the new enterprise system, eliminating offline reporting conflicts. This allowed supply chain staff to have access to interactive reports and dashboards that provide a more comprehensive understanding and greater level of control.

During the implementation process, we helped their team implement asset management, inventory management, barcode services, and finance management modules within the ERP system. We integrated the customer tracking system through APIs and web services and helped implement reports and creative dashboards for asset management.

As our team worked with the business to roll out the asset management module, hindering issues emerged. Data was scattered between discrete systems, and metrics and business logic were in old and separate systems. To address these issues, we integrated various modules and data from different systems to provide a comprehensive view and insight to the users.

Now, with the asset management system in place, users run one report to get real-time analysis of the asset’s status, location, online and shutdown times, repair, and procurement status. New reporting and interactive data visualizations enable users to see the geographical location of every active asset in their system and submit any vouchers for them.

Impact:

The implementation of the asset management system eliminated duplicate asset numbers and latency issues. Parsonline now has a system with capabilities for real-time management, comprehensive reporting, and forecasting AI reports. Teams can connect to other tools, such as Tableau and Power BI, for data visualization, as well as AI-enabled tools.

In conclusion, the asset management system implementation helped Parsonline to overcome asset tracking challenges, improve operational efficiency, and enhance their supply chain management. The system provides real-time insights and comprehensive reporting, improving decision-making processes and giving Parsonline a competitive edge in the market.

Improve car wholesale inventory and sales forecasting

United Motors is a wholesale company operating in the car industry in North California. It serves Ford branches by filling their inventory needs and wholesaling to Ford branches across California. However, United Motors faced challenges in managing its inventory and forecasting sales due to the distribution of data across different systems, including finance and sales systems, and Excel sheets.

To address these issues, our team implemented data visualization for inventory data, sales, and procurement data for the wholesale industry. We used SQL to extract data and created a data warehouse from various sources and systems. We utilized API, ETL, and SQL to gather data together and integrate it into Power BI to create data visualization.

The data visualization allowed United Motors to gain a better understanding of their inventory in different branches around California and forecast which branch of Ford needs what vehicle. The forecasting feature allowed the company to plan better and sell more efficiently, providing a competitive edge in the market.

The implementation of the data visualization system enabled United Motors to overcome its inventory management and sales forecasting challenges. It provided real-time insights and comprehensive reporting, improving decision-making processes and giving the company a competitive edge in the market.

Anticipating Biotech Industry Growth: Mastering Sales Forecasting

CinnaGen Co. is a Middle Eastern biotech company that specializes in the development of hi-tech biotech products like monoclonal antibodies, PCR kits, and biosimilar candidates for diseases like oncology and infertility. With over 20% of their total turnover dedicated to R&D activities, CinnaGen is committed to promoting sustainable development in human health through strategic partnerships. As the largest bio-pharmaceutical manufacturer and biotech exporter in the Middle East, CinnaGen has recently expanded its reach by working with the European Union to introduce its biosimilar products in European markets.

To maintain strict standards of quality control and cost management in the highly competitive global pharmaceutical market, CinnaGen needs to use high-quality raw materials, efficient production processes, and accurate cost accounting. As a result, implementing a Business Intelligence system can help the company achieve these goals and optimize its manufacturing processes. The implementation of such a system would involve developing the software infrastructure for calculating the total cost and gathering cost information from the inventory and supply chain module, as well as financial data from the accounting system. Predicting production costs based on a product’s Bill of Materials (BOM) and financial costs is another critical feature of the BI system. Finally, to reduce waste, a dashboard to compare inventory by expiration date against the production schedule and displaying materials that are likely to expire due to lack of demand in the production plan would be created.

By implementing a Business Intelligence system, CinnaGen can improve its cost management, reduce waste, and ensure the quality of its products. This would provide the company with valuable insights into production processes, which can be used to enhance efficiency and optimize resource allocation. As CinnaGen expands into new markets and competes on a global scale, these factors will be critical to its success.

Overall, implementing a Business Intelligence system can significantly benefit CinnaGen’s operations, ensuring cost-effective manufacturing processes, reducing waste, and improving product quality, which are essential for their success in the global pharmaceutical market.

From Data Chaos to Business Clarity: Our Success Story with Henkel’s Middle East Branch on Integrated Inventory and Sales Management

Henkel is a German multinational company that operates globally and offers numerous consumer brands. One of its challenges in the Middle East was managing inventory and sales data from various sources. To address this issue, Henkel’s branch in the region decided to implement a Business Intelligence (BI) solution with a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) module.

The project’s primary goal was to establish the necessary infrastructure for managing production operations and to analyze production responsiveness to monthly and annual plans. The BI solution also provided dashboards to predict future performance compared to the production plan, taking into account inventory status and the status of orders in progress. Furthermore, it guided the company on inventory status for materials with expiration dates, preventing potential waste or loss due to expired materials.

The implementation of the BI solution was a success, and Henkel Middle East achieved better control over production operations and optimized production responsiveness. The TCO module offered a better understanding of production costs, allowing the company to identify areas for cost reduction. Additionally, the dashboards provided real-time visibility into production performance and helped to take corrective action in case of any deviation from the production plan. Overall, the BI solution helped Henkel Middle East achieve its production objectives more efficiently.
